1. Facebook’s favoritism
Everyone’s friendly social media network, Facebook was accused of feeding biased information through news feeds and trending topics on the platform.
The controversy exploded when a group of journalists from Tech blog, Gizmodo, alleged that the social network told them to suppress news related to conservative parties.
This led to an eventual US Senate inquirywhere Facebook was found using certain websites for feeding its news algorithms. Facebook eventually amended its algorithms and acknowledged possible “isolated improper actions or unintentional bias”.
2. Samsung’s biggest blunder
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 bust was undoubtedly the year’s failures. No conclusive explanation to the Galaxy Note 7’s explosive batteries episode has been provided by the brand.
The controversy took a toll on the brand’s customer base to a great extent. The company eventually recalled the device, which is currently in its last few remains.
3. Ringing Bells in the head

The phone was beyond cheap for its features made by an Indian company, Ringing Bells. 2016 proved to be a dark spot for cyber security. The year encountered multiple large-scale hacks come to light. Two of the biggest DDoS attacks in history happened this year, threatening the very foundation of the internet.
