Crowd gather at stores as iphone 7 sale begins in India:- Sharp at 7 PM on Friday, the month-long wait to put-hand on an iPhone 7 came to an end as the Apple enthusiasts who had pre-ordered iPhone 7 and 7 Plus devices gathered at the Apple flagship and retail stores across the country to grab their respective handsets.
After receiving a phenomenal response from 28 countries in its first phase, which began from 16 September and an additional 30 countries from 24 September, iPhone 7 and 7 Plus has finally arrived in India and the mood was undesirable.
“I would like to thank all the Apple enthusiasts for breaking various records with the new iPhone 7 launch. This launch is far away from comparison in India. Well it is iPhone 7, after all,” Mikey Todd, MD, iZenica, Apple Premium Reseller in India said.
Available in silver, gold, rose gold and an all new jet black color, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are available in 32GB, 128GB and 256GB models respective, starting from Rs 60,000.
Happy customers
“Receiving an iPhone on its very first day in India, moreover before others means a lot. My heart skipped a beat when I held it for the first time. It is like carrying a classiest brand in your pocket which speaks on its own,” said Neha Rana.
iPhone 7 has all new features such as water and dust resistance, dual-lens camera (in iPhone 7 Plus), pressure-sensitive home button, 7MP HD front camera and 12MP rear view camera.
“For me, it is just like a repackaged iPhone 6s with a few new specifications. All new Apple products feel more like the recycled ideas than any innovation. Still, I am buying an iPhone 7 because the jet black handset looks sleek,” Haroon Shergill, an Apple lover said.
Analyst records
According to an industry analyst, since it is the festive season and Diwali happens to falls on 30 October, making thia a strategic time for Apple to register high iPhone 7 sales in the country.
“With this, Apple will have three-four weeks of good festive celebrations. Last year, Apple launched the iPhone models on 16 October in India, and so this year, the company will have more time-frame to register comparatively high sales figures,” Tarun Pathak, senior analyst, Mobile Devices and Ecosystems at New Delhi-based Counterpoint Research said.
