Google Nexus 6p users’ reports battery crisis
Reportedly, after updating the Android 7.0 Nougat OS, Nexus 6P users are facing battery failure issues. One of the users of the device posted a video showing his Nexus 6P being switched off after taking just 3 photos, even with 53 percent charge left in the phone.
The Smartphone could be switched only after plugging in to the charger. Once plugged in to the charger, the user of the Smartphone had to wait for the battery flash icon to appear on the screen, in order to turn on his phone.
Another user commented on the video posted saying that his battery level also dropped from 23 per cent 0 per cent while watching a single small duration video.
Another user commented on the video stating, “Noticed the same thing last week where the battery dropped from 96% to 73% in just a few seconds. The phone was telling that I had 3 mins of battery left. And it was dropping by the second. I rebooted the phone and the battery showed 98% and remained steady. It seemed like something internal crashed and wasn’t tracking the battery properly.”
Post rolling out Android 7.0 update in August by Google, Nexus devices were as usual the first to get the latest Android OS update. This is however the first time for Google to unveil its newest Android update before the releasing a new Nexus smartphone. Google has apparently dropped the branding of Nexus with its new Pixel smartphones, which released the Developer Preview of Android 7.1 Nougat in mid-October along.
Android Nougat shifts the way in which Google delivers its OS update. Android 7.1 Nougat is supposed to bring several changes such as circular app icons support, app shortcuts API, enhanced live wallpaper metadata and image keyboard support. Users have now taken social media platforms in order to complain about unnerving battery failures with Nexus 6P after Nougat update; but neither Google nor Nexus has come forward yet to acknowledge the issue.
