Festive Treat: Xiaomi Smartphones take Indian market by quiet storm :- In India, it may be festive season but the actual time of the life is being faced by the Chinese mobile maker brand, Xiaomi which sold half a million smart phones within three days of sale on the online platforms; Snapdeal, Flipkart and Amazon. Apparently, it was the first time, when Xiaomi announced the sales on its all Smartphones and accessories on all its partner platforms at the same time.
Due to the continuous rising demand for the brand Smartphones, Flipkart ran out of stock for Redmi 3S Prime and Redmi Note 3. Xaiomi even held the number one spot on the platform due to fastest sales of the models. Along with Flipkart, even Amazon couldn’t escape the Xaiomi storm wherein two out of the top three selling Smartphones were Xaiomi devices.
On electronic platforms, four of six top products are Xaiomi’s wherein 1000 mAh power bank lead the power bank segment. Aiming the budget segment, Xaiomi has aggressively entered the Indian market this year after a relatively quieter 2015.
The Xaiomi India head, Manu Kumar Jain claimed through a Facebook post that as per the data around 2 phones were sold each second during the first three days of the sales. He added that the company is actively working with contract manufacturer Foxconn to create bigger quantity for future months and quarters.
Xiaomi’s first exclusive offline Smartphone, Redmi 3S+ which was launched in the beginning of the month made a little contribution to the sales. Though Diwali sales for the major E-commerce platforms is over now, but proved that this Chinese brand left a great mark among the Indian buyers.
Even though its sales in China has dipped to 38 percent post the first quarter of the year but the company stands as the third largest Smartphone brand in India across more than 30 cities as of August.
