3000 Year old pottery has been discovered in Papua New Guinea
A group of Archaeologist has discovered 3000 year old pieces of pottery in a remote village of Papua in New Guinea.
The pieces were found in the highlands of that region where there is a regular contact with the seafaring culture of pottery making people like the Lapita.
ANU (Australian national university) said that this is an example of how technology is spreading among cultures.
This discovery will help the archeologists to reconstruct the past that how the techniques of pottery making spread from Southeast Asia to the Pacific.
Dylan Gaffney of the University of Otego and colleagues said the pieces of pottery represent the oldest dated pottery on the island of New Guinea.
