On Thursday, Assam govt’s dynamic Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma generously handed out 35,770 scooters to high-scoring students in the 12th-grade exams. As part of the Pragyan Bharati initiative, this gesture honours the legacy of Banikanta Kakati, a revered linguist and litterateur.
During the event, CM Sarma emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering youth through education. The scooters, distributed under the Pragyan Bharati scheme, aim to reward students achieving above 60% and 75% in class 12th exams, marking the scheme’s sixth year in 2023.
