On Thursday, Assam govt’s dynamic Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma generously handed out 35,770 scooters to high-scoring students in the 12th-grade exams. As part of the Pragyan Bharati initiative, this gesture honours the legacy of Banikanta Kakati, a revered linguist and litterateur.


During the event, CM Sarma emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering youth through education. The scooters, distributed under the Pragyan Bharati scheme, aim to reward students achieving above 60% and 75% in class 12th exams, marking the scheme’s sixth year in 2023.

CM Sarma: Education Drive & Kakati’s Legacy

Expressing hope that these scooters serve as motivation for future academic success, CM Sarma highlighted the government’s dedication to supporting education. He also shed light on Kakati’s significant contributions to language and culture.

Assam: Scholar Scooter Initiative
