Aryan Nehra is a 19-year-old swimmer from Gujarat who has been in the news for breaking 4 National  Records.

  • He qualified for World Championship and Asian Game
  • He is from the Inspire Institute of Sport
  • He won four golds at the 76th Senior National Aquatic Championships in 400m freestyle (3:52.55), 800m freestyle (8:01.81), 1,500m (15:29.76) and 400m individual medley (4:25.62)
  • He was also judged the best male swimmer by the Swimming Federation of India (SFI)

After breaking these records, he said “For the most part, personal bests (PB) would have been good enough. Even if I got close, PBs was going to be good. The bigger goal was to have solid races, swim correctly and focus on the details. The focus was on winning races rather than what the numbers were on the clock. But I was pleasantly surprised with the timings.”

  • He is currently ranked Number 1 for Season 2022-23 in India
  • He is ranked 13th in USA Club (Open), Florida Swimming, and 9th in Gator Swim Club

He has been studying finance at the University of Florida. He is also part of Florida Gators, an intercollegiate athletic team that represents the University of Florida.

The next goal for Nehra is to perfect his performance for the World Championship and Asian Games.
