Manu Bhaker of India finally ended India’s medal draught in shooting. After 12 years India bagged bronze medal in shooting. Manu Bhaker on Sunday created history by becoming the first woman shooter to win a medal in Olympics. Manu grabbed a bronze medal in 10m Air Pistol event in Paris Olympics 2024. Bhaker is now the first Indian women shooter to win an Olympic medal.
India defeats Sri Lanka by 7 wickets
India defeated Sri Lanka by 7 wickets in the second T20 series match in Pallekele. Sri Lanka gave target of 162 runs for India, however due to heavy rain they were asked to chase 78 runs in 8 overs. India chased down 78 runs within 6.3 overs, credit goes to Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 30 off 15. India is now at 2-0 lead in three-match series.
Sri Lanka Women won their first ever Women’s Asia Cup title
On sunday, India lost Women’s Asia Cup to Sri Lanka at Dambulla. Sri Lanka created history by winning their first ever Women’s Asia Cup title, defeated Indian team by 8 wickets in the final match. Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu on winning the title said ” I’m feeling happy, I’m happy about my team’s performance, especially the batting. Special thanks to Harshita and DIlhari for their performance. It’s not a one-man show, the coaching staff has been great and finally we have won the Asia Cup”.

PM Modi congratulated Manu Bhaker on her victory
Manu Bhaker on Sunday created history ended India’s medal draught in shooting. Manu brought immense pride to the nation and our Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally reached out to her to congratulate her. Prime Minister Modi said, “Hearty congratulations to you. You are the first woman to win a medal for our country. This is a wonderful achievement, many congratulations for winning the bronze medal.” Manu grabbed a bronze medal in 10m Air Pistol event in Paris Olympics 2024.
Fans are disappointed with Sanju Samson’s performance
On Sunday, Sanju Samson finally got the opportunity to bat for team India against Sri Lanka in second match of T20 series. Sanju Samson replaced Indian opener Shubman Gill as he woke up with a neck spasm. Sanju, however was dismissed for a ‘golden duck’. Samson was sent along with Yashasvi Jaiswal for opening but he missed the very first ball and was clean bold. After, being ‘golden duck’, fans are now disappointed and trolling him for his performance. Sanju has not been able to fix his spot in the Indian cricket team due to his poor performances in different roles.
