Olympics wrap up: India secured six medals at the Paris Olympics 2024, however, the nation's ranking was lower compared to the 2016 Rio Olympics. We certainly earned a larger number of medals compared to Rio, however, we fell significantly lower in the standings.

This occurred 24 years later, when India’s Olympic ranking fell below 70. India was ranked 71st during the Sydney Olympics in 2000 and the Atlanta Olympics in 1996. India ranked 67th in Rio 2016 and 65th in Athens 2004 simultaneously. A total of 117 players from India were sent to Paris this year. This number matched the Rio Olympics precisely. We achieved a greater number of medals compared to Rio, however, our ranking was significantly lower. India placed 71st in Paris.
