Gautam Gambhir Questions Rohit Sharma’s Spot in XI for Sydney Test: ‘Depends on This…’
Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir has refused to confirm whether Rohit Sharma will be included in the playing XI for the upcoming Sydney Test against Australia. Gambhir, who is known for his straightforward opinions, said that the team management will take a call on Rohit’s inclusion based on the conditions and the team’s requirements.
When asked about Rohit’s chances of playing in the Sydney Test, Gambhir said, “I don’t think it’s fair to speculate about Rohit’s inclusion or exclusion from the team. The team management will take a call on that based on the conditions and the team’s requirements.” He further added, “Rohit is a quality player, but the team’s needs should be the priority. If the team thinks he can contribute to the team’s success, he will be included, otherwise, he won’t.”

Gautam Gambhir’s comments come after Rohit’s impressive performance in the Melbourne Test, where he scored a century in the third Test. However, the Indian team is still struggling to find the right balance, and Gautam Gambhir believes that the team management should prioritize the team’s needs over individual performances.
Gambhir also praised the Australian team, saying that they are a formidable opponent and will pose a tough challenge for the Indian team in the Sydney Test. He said, “Australia is a tough team to beat, especially in their home conditions. The Indian team will need to be at their best to win the Test.” The Sydney Test is scheduled to start on January 3, and the Indian team will be looking to level the series after losing the first two Tests.
