The initial ODI match between India and Sri Lanka occurred on August 2 at R. Premadasa Cricket Stadium in Colombo, resulting in a draw as India was unable to reach the target of 231 runs. Despite the introduction of a new ICC rule stating that there should be a super over to determine the winner, it is worth mentioning that there was no super over in the match. Nonetheless, the umpires in the first ODI between Sri Lanka and India admitted to a serious error in judgment for not proceeding to a super over as required by the ICC’s rules. The officials said there was some confusion regarding the ICC’s rule of conducting a super over in case of a tie in an ODI match. There was a mistake in understanding them.

Cricketer Rahul Dravid’s son made his debut

Rahul Dravid, India’s batting icon and former coach, son Samit Dravid make his debut in the Maharaja Trophy on Thursday. Ranked fourth, Samit’s team batted first against Shivammoga and he only managed to score 7 runs. During a span of 5 months, there will be a total of 10 Tests, along with 8 T20 and 3 ODI matches scheduled.
