On April 12, 2025 the Purnima Tithi (full moon) of Shukla Paksha in the month of Chaitra Hanuman Jayanti falls this year. Significance of Hanuman Jayanti
Among the most significant Hindu holidays Hanuman Jayanti commemorates the anniversary of Lord Hanuman’s birth. This day comes a few days after Lord Rama’s birth anniversary Ram Navami. Lord Hanuman is thought to be a Rudra manifestation of Lord Shiva. His parents are Vanar Raj Kesari and Mata Anjani. Because he is chiranjeevi or immortal according to Hindu scriptures he is still alive and present on this planet. Lord Hanuman Ji has several names including Bajrangbali Sundar Maruti Nandan Pavan Putra Anjani Nandan and Sankat Mochan. Worshippers of Lord Hanuman are said to experience immense happiness and success as a result of their devotion to him. Lord Hanuman is the perfect example of loyalty and devotion.

This festival is celebrated with great splendor in India where people offer Lord Hanuman various forms of prayer. In honor of the day of Lord Hanuman’s birth, followers observe a fast on this day. Some visit temples, erect food stands and feed the underprivileged and destitute. On this auspicious day some people organize Sundar Kaand Paath kirtans and bhajans in an effort to please Lord Hanuman.

Rituals to Perform on Hanuman Jayanti
- Recite the Chalisa of Hanuman.
- Spoken the Sundara Kand.
- Present Hanuman Ji with cloves, cardamom vermilion lemon juice and chameli oil.
- Present a red chopla and a garland of red roses to Hanuman Ji.
- Present Hanuman Ji with peepal leaves.
- Donate lentils, peanuts , jaggery and red clothing on this day.
- Go to a temple dedicated to Hanuman and recite the Ramraksha Stotra.
