Women tipplers rule the roost in Booze thristy Korea
We are of course talking about South Korea here. The women here, are as hardworking as their male counterparts.
Like their male counterparts, they also like to unwind with friends after a hard days work at the grindstone.
This is where the similarity stops.
Being the more sensible of the two, the ladies actually like to have a good time, instead of simply getting sozzled. For this, they have expressed more keenness for softer forms of liquer, instead of the more traditional ‘Soju’, a clear alcohol preferred by the men.
Like the Indian ‘Tharra’, the sole purpose of Soju is to get one drunk. However, this does not suit the ladies, who also like to chat and catch up with friends.
Due to this, sales of sparlking wine have risen by more than 20 percent. This is encouraging local producers of tipple to come out with more fruit based beverages with a more tolerable alcohol content.
We’ll drink to that. Cheers!
