The kind of lifestyle we are living and the carbon footprints that we are leaving with every step is causing a detrimental effect on our natural resources.

Within the last eight years, we have over-consumed and depleted our natural resources for the entire century. Our global accounting balance sheet collected by Global Footprint Network shows we are in debt and questions our priorities.

In simple accounting terms, we are spending more than we earn. It becomes apparent we are going to go bankrupt. The Results also are supported by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration data.

The balance sheet helps us to understand that our carbon footprint is linked to our natural resources, such as farmland and forest. A land that has more green cover can help to absorb more carbon. While a concrete pavement will continue to emit carbon, we would need more green coverage cities to lower our carbon footprint. This is important not only for future generations, but our own health too.
