Simple tips to stay young

Aging results in physiological decline but the process is not uniform.




Physiological changes occur in body systems as a part of normal aging process.

For this reason, to slow down the deleterious effects of aging, special emphasis to be given on food sources of calcium, vitamin B6, Magnesium zinc and iron.




Breakfast is often the best meal of the day and should be planned to contribute to a significant proportion of the day’s nutrients.

A serving of fruit or salad and a glass of butter milk, soup/milk/herbal tea or coconut water should be given.

As lactose intolerance develops in old age, therefore milk substitution like yoghurt, butter milk and paneer etc should be preferred over milk.

A soluble fiber rich diet to be given as it helps to prevent constipation, flatulence.

Consume a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables; small and frequent meals are preferred.




Apart from diet the elderly are advise to continue with their physical activity and high exercise to keep fit and prevent occurrence of diseases like arthritis.
