Kumbh Mela is on in drought hit Maharashtra. The last of the ritualistic baths, or ‘Shahi Snans’ was taken today by thousands of seers.
The CM of Maharashtra also performed a prayer here. Guj CM Anandiben Patel, and Assam Governor Acharya have also visited Nashik today.
All this conspicuous bathing and water useage comes with a backdrop of the most severe drought being faced by farmers in Maharashtra, where suicides among them has become a norm.
