Saree is the new dress code for women in Kashi Vishwanath Temple
The temple administration in Kashi Vishwanath temple has imposed a ban on the entry of foreign women wearing short clothes below the knee and also introduced a dress code ‘Saree’ for the foreigners.
The temple administration is also planning to introduce dress code of ‘Dhoti’ for male devotees in future.
According to P N Dwivedi, ‘The dress code has been imposed keeping the demands of the domestic pilgrims, particularly those who are from South India, are making objections for wearing short clothes by foreigners.
60,000 devotees visit the temple every day with around five per cent of them are foreigners.
