Visitors are welcomed to Quatar’s Slave Museum with a quote by America President Abraham Lincoln “ If slavery is not wrong, nothing is wrong.”
Located in Bin Jelmood house in Doha, this is Qatar’s way of reminding visitors about the evils of slavery, which surprisingly still exists.
Commendibly, Qatar is not shying away from acknowledging it’s slavery past, and the role played by slaves in its development, with slavery being abolished only in 1952.
The museum also showcases how slaves were integrated into regualr society, once the evil of slavery was abolished.
Bin Jelmood house was the location where slaves were ‘stocked’ before being auctioned.
