Do not Politicise the issue of Triple Talaq
On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urges the Muslim Community to not politicise the issue of triple talaq and told them to look for solutions rather than hyping the issue. Speaking in New Delhi at Basava Convention, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Main Muslim samaaj se aagrah karunga ki triple talaq ke mudde ko rajneeti ke daayre mein mat aane dijiye. Aap log aagey aakar iska samaadhan kijiye (I urge Muslim Community not to politices the issue of triple talaq. Rather, come forward and look for the solution).”
Reformers of the community called by the Prime Minister Modi to fight for the Muslim daughters who are suffering and are hoping on finding a solution on the issue. According to a report, Modi said, “Muslim samaaj se prabudh log aage aayenge, Muslim betiyon ke saath jo guzar rahi hai uske khilaf ladai ladenge aur kabhi na kabhi raasta nikalenge (Muslim community will step forward some day and fight against the suffering of Muslim daughter to find a way out).”
Earlier, in April, PM Narendra Modi had spoken on the issue of triple talaq at the BJP National Executive Meet in Bhubaneswar. Nitin Gadkari, Union Road and Transport Minister had said that the PM Modi talked about getting justice for Muslim women.
According to reports, Nitin Gadkari said, “PM Modi talked about social justice. He said our Muslim sister should also get justice. Injustice should not be done with them. Nobody should be exploited. We do not want that there is conflict within the Muslim community over the issue. What we have to do is that if there are any social evils, we have to wake up the society and make efforts to provide justice to Muslim women. That was the Prime Minister’s spirit.”
