Excited about her return, her ‘family’, the Mahatos travelled all the way from Bihar to greet her at New Delhi’s IGI Airport. However, she could not recognize any one of them.
She was then taken away by government officials, and will only be released to family once DNA verification is done. Her memory lapse could also be attributed to the fact that she was only 7-8 years old when she got separated, and now is a young woman.
