Do Good And Count Them

Do Good And Count Them

Every day when you travel from your home to your workplace or your college/school etc. You see several things that do not fit in the puzzle, yet they are pushed to fit.

You see auto-wall as refusing to go or asking you for money beforehand, rather than switching on the meter. The early commuters are in a hurry hence, they don’t like to argue and relent, as they don’t want to waste their time and mood.

Do Good And Count Them

In the traffic, you see people talking over the mobile phone while driving, people littering on the roads, people stopping their vehicles just to fight, delaying other commuters. There are thousands of things which are happening in the wrong manner, yet we are in a habit of “adjusting” to the situations.

In our neighborhood, we see people hitting stray animals, spitting or urinating on the walls, conducting functions late at night with loud music when people are sleeping or studying. There are rowdies, eve teasing the girls passing by. There are things we ignore, to avoid arguments or perhaps to avoid getting into “trouble”.

Do Good And Count Them

But by doing this, we are actually making sure that the deeds are encouraged. We should start speaking up.

What we can do?

We should not let the auto-wallas take whatever they want.It is in the law, that they can’t refuse a person if they don’t have anyone aboard their auto rickshaw. If they do, you can dial the police helpline.

If you see someone using their mobile phone while driving, you can politely tell them, that it is dangerous for them and the people aboard and other commuters. There is also a way of telling the person, that they are driving, just by texting #X. If they are littering, you can tell them, not to litter, and pick up the litter and throw them.

Do Good And Count Them

Take action if people are using physical violence on anyone, be it animals, children or other people. Fights are not meant to be enjoyed. They are emergencies, which need to be discouraged and resolved.

The people, who eave tease should be warned, if they still don’t stop, don’t be afraid in calling the police.

Last week, I was hit by two people (auto-wallas) for telling a guy, not to urinate in the dishwashing area of a restaurant. He was obviously drunk and he hit me because I called the police. I wasn’t badly hurt though.

Do Good And Count Them

But if I see it, I will do it again. Because I was right and it was the right thing to do.

If we want to stay in a good clean and safe society, one or two hits aren’t anything. It is for the Greater Good. So in order to do that, we need to do good and count them.
