Bollywood movies mostly have the same kind of storyline. It talks more about love and action. Well, from last few decades, things have been changed. Thanks to those actors who actually tried to bring changes. Novel films like Padman and Toilet of Akshay Kumar were blockbusters as they have shown the cruel reality of our country. But apart from these films, there are a lot of other psychological thrillers too that can add to your taste and they might change your perception of Bollywood films.
1.Kaun: You won’t forget Manoj Bajpayee and Urmila Matondkar after watching their performance in ‘Kaun’. This psychological horror thriller is a masterpiece designed by Ram Gopal Verma, written by Anurag Kashyap. Just go for it, without a second thought.
2.Ugly: A lonely and troubled housewife is addicted to alcohol and battling depression, grinding between both her ex-husband and her current husband (a cop). This movie has it all and mainly revolves around their missing daughter. It is another psychological thriller masterpiece directed by Anurag Kashyap which cannot be missed. Anurag Kashyap is a king of making psychological thrillers film.
3.Trapped: This is the latest addition to the list. It is the tale of one man’s survival Rajkummar Rao when he gets stuck in an uninhabited Mumbai apartment while leaving for his wedding. A high rise apartment with no electricity, no water, a disconnected phone and an almost deaf watchman. It is a tense and taut thriller with an excellent ending. Rajkummar Rao has given a commendable performance in this film. Must watch it!

4.Lucia: One of the best films Bollywood has actually given us. One of the highest rated movies on this list and a must watch. The story revolves around a man suffering from insomnia (sleeping disorder) who is tricked into buying a drug, Lucia. Now, this drug makes his desires come true in his dreams, blurring the line between fantasy and reality. Watch it see how far your mind can take you if it is allowed to expand. Well, this is the perfect psychological film that will definitely blow your mind!
5.Darr: A violent love story that laid the foundation of SRK’s career. It was fresh and frightening! Shah Rukh played an evil person wrapped up in an unassuming boy-next-door look. Yash Chopra places the psychotic obsessive love between a couple, adds some memorable songs and serves a psychological thriller that continues to stand the test of time.
6.Ghajini: This psychological thriller was inspired by critically acclaimed Hollywood movie Memento. Aamir Khan, despite suffering from short-term memory loss, is on a relentless mission to find and take revenge for the murder of his love. His rage makes his cat-and-mouse game dangerous for anyone who crosses his path.
7.Taalash: The car accident of a well-known actor opens up a mysterious trail of events that happened three years back involving three friends and a call girl. As Inspector Shekhawat is out solving the case layer by layer, he also copes with his own marriage falling apart ever since the death of his son. The catch is Rosie, who helps him in the case, but is only visible to him! Aamir Khan’s this movie was really something out of the box.
