Spice brings Firefox Smartphone
The Spice Mobiles today on 22 August launched country’s first Firefox OS powered smartphone, Spice Fire One Mi – FX 1. The 3.5 inches Spice Fire 1 has been priced at an unbelievable cost of only Rs.2,299. The handset is completely based on the Mozilla’s Firefox operating system which allows better internet services. According to the company the handset entry is being made for those 90 percent feature phone users who wish to switch to smartphones.

Spice Fire One Mi-FX 1 will be available in market with some of the basic features which every smartphone user looks for. First of all, the Fire One is powered by 1 GHz processor and offers dual SIM connectivity. Looking at the picture quality, it offers a 2MP rear camera and a 1.3 MP front camera which is okay with the price tag. Apart from this, the Fire One offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Edge connectivity. The missing up of 3G connectivity would be a big barrier for the model to be sold easily as today most of the customers look for the 3G enabled smartphones.

The Firefox Operating system was introduced last year with the Alcatel One Touch Fire and since then the OS is being used by many mobile phone brands like Huawei, LG, Polytron, ZTE, etc.
