Philae lander reports unusual data on Comet

Philae, a lander of the size of washing machine sent by European Space Agency to collect data on Comet 67P has taken the scientific community by surprise. It has detected 4 organic molecules which have never been seen on any comet. This is good news as organic molecules are generally building blocks of life.

Unfortunately, Philae couldn’t land where it intended to and has fallen in a crater where sunlight is difficult to reach. But, scientists are hopeful that once the Comet is closest to the Sun, the lander will power on again.
