Mi Band – The affordable Fitness Tracker
Mi Band – The affordable Fitness Tracker
Xiaomi, which made inroads in the International Market with its flagship killers Mi 3 and Mi 4 has yet again come up with a affordable device in the Fitness sector. The Mi Band. The band costs close to 13$ and hasn’t been launched in India yet. Though you can procure it from various E-Commerce sites such as Amazon, ShopClues or Ebay. They may charge you a little more but that’s okay considering the fact that most fitness trackers cost 10 times its price.
So, let’s go into its details to find out whether this is the right fitness tracker for you.
• Build
The Mi band looks decent and is rather comfortable to wear. It comes with a black strap and hence looks good with any outfit. It has no controls or display apart from the 3 LED lights which point out how near are you to your goal. It is also IP 67 rated, which means you can have it on even while taking a shower. But, I would advice to take it off while taking a bath.
• Software
The Mi band has its own app available on the Play Store. The app has a very simple interface and is also very user friendly. It tells you how many steps one has taken, the amount of sleep one had which is further broken down into deep and light sleep. It also serves as a Alarm wherein it vibrates strongly to wake you up.
• Battery
The Mi band has a incredible battery backup. While Xiaomi claims it lasts for a month, I have personally tested it and found that it can easily last you 45 days. This is a huge plus since most fitness trackers of today don’t last even a week.
Bottomline
The Mi band isn’t for everyone, especially for serious health trackers. It can be inaccurate sometimes in counting your steps. But, for people who just need that little motivation to work out without spending enormous amount of money, the Mi band is their best bet.
