Just Say ‘Ok Google’
The Android Group on Tuesday announced its upcoming product ‘Android Wear’. This project is to extend Android to Wearables. ‘The watches- powered by Android’ could be the first such product which could be launched in the second quarter of the year 2014. The product would not only work as a simple watch to tell you time, but it is also going to hit market with some very unique features.
The first thing you would have been expecting from Android Wear is the wide variety of apps for you. Now, you would be able to connect with- your friends via your wrist watch and would receive latest posts and updates on the go.
Now, just say ‘Ok Google’ to your smart watch to get stuffs done, like sending a text, making a restaurant reservation, calling a taxi, or setting an alarm. Or say ‘Ok Google’ to ask score of a match, calories, flight timings and many more.
The Android Wear is able to monitor your health and fitness. Fitness apps can give you real-time speed, distance and time information on your wrist for your run, cycle or walk.
Android is working with several partners like Asus, LG, Samsung, HTC, Intel, etc. to bring Smart-Watches powered by Android Wear.Meanwhile, LG Electronics has announced on Thursday that it’s working with Google on LG G Watch powered by Android Wear. This is LG’s fourth device developed in close collaboration with Google following the Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and the LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition.
“With the LG G Watch, LG is continuing the milestones we’ve set in wearables following in the footsteps of the world’s first 3G Touch Watch Phone in 2009 and the Prada Link in 2008. We’re confident that a well-designed device has the potential to take the smart wearable market by storm.” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.
On the other side ‘Motorola 360’ is the upcoming wearable by Motorola. It is also powered by Android Wear. According to the company, Moto 360 will be available in a variety of styles globally in summer 2014, starting in the US.
Android Wear could be the kicking product in the market this year; people have many expectations from this upcoming Android based gadget.
