God of Modern Phones: The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G
Both Yu Yureka and Xiaomi Redmi Note have taken the Indian market by storm, thanks to their high end Smartphone features and competitive pricing. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G being priced at 9999 that is 10,000 approx and heating up the competition is Yu Yureka priced at 8,999 that is 9000 approx.
The packaging is average
Both are being sold exclusively on rival E-Retailers Flipkart(Xiaomi) and Amazon(Yureka) and have been known to sell out in seconds in flash sales. Take for example Yureka being sold out in 3 seconds on Amazon. So, here is a review of newly launched Yureka.
Display and Design
The 5.5-inch screen on the Yureka uses an IPS display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. The display lacks sharpness and the colors are bit oversaturated. Though the phone is pretty big yet it feels light on the hand and is pretty slim. The device has a uniform thickness of around 8.8mm and weight of 155 grams. Most of the users would be comfortable using it by one hand. The display and design are decent for its price.
The Yureka is light and sleek Source
Performance
The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615, octa core processor and speed of up to 1.5GHz . It comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory. External storage of upto 32 GB can be added. The phone offers mostly lag free experience while multi-tasking. It’s not buttery smooth like high end Smartphone Gaming experience on this phone was a delight as it could take on highly demanding graphic intensive games without lagging or showing signs of a frame drop.
Software
A big plus for Yureka is its software. It comes with Cyanogen Mod OS 11, which is a highly customizable user interface and is also highly secure. There are a plenty of themes to choose from and is a good competition to the Mi user interface. Yureka has promised its users of a monthly update.
Camera
The phone comes with a 13 Megapixel rear camera which again is decent given its price. The photos even in low light came out to be quite good. The front camera is 5 Megapixel and I found it to be quite impressive. A must buy for selfie lovers.

Battery Backup
The Yu Yureka comes with a 2500 mAh battery. The phone lasts for 12-13 hours on heavy usage. For normal users I guess the battery would easily last a day.
Should you buy it or not?
As a product, Yureka gets everything right. It has promised door step service to its customers and also announced that the warranty would last even if you root the device.
Yu sign on the back
Yureka is hands down the best phone in its price range currently. I would just say that if your budget is under 10 K, then go for it. Not to forget, getting your hands on this beauty is one hell of a task. Good luck with that.
