Canon has recently launched nine new professional video cameras in the Indian market. These Pro Video cameras have been introduced in two different series, the XA and XF series. The light weight models, under the series are categorized as XA10, XA20, XA25, XF100, XF105, XF200, XF205, XF300 and XF305.
On the launch, Company’s Executive Vice President, Dr. Alok Bharadwaj said, “The introduction of the professional video cameras which we call as PRO-DV is focused at emerging professional video recording culture in India, particularly for event videography professionals like weddings, Electronic News Gathering professionals, Documentary film makers, TV Show recordings etc. We are happy to see growing momentum in TV viewership, multiple channels proliferation, news gathering and wedding videography as, it will help us grow the Pro-DV category in India, where Canon is already present in multiple domains”.
He also added, “Canon had launched 4 models in CINEMA EOS product group for high end cinematography applications where we have achieved 200 installed base in last 2 years. These new domains of cinema & Pro-DV have promising applications for growth”.
Canon Cinema EOS is the DSLR series, specially built to record super quality videos for cinemas, which Canon had launched earlier.
With the launch of PRO DV video cameras, Canon India is planning to get engaged in various marketing and consumer engagement initiatives. And for that, some specialized events and workshops for professionals across India would also be organized. The latest update being, Canon is planning to provide technical trainings to the media school and university students from across India, conduct demonstrations for TV stations, documentary film-makers and event videographers.
