15 Teens Trying to Change the World
There is no proper age required to think and invent anything for the welfare of the world. The 2014 Google Science Fair has come up with the 15 Global Finalists, each having an incredible project. This is the fourth time that Google has organized the competition to encourage the next generation of scientists and engineers.

The young scientists will be competing in California at Google HQ next month with their unique ideas. The competition will be in three different age categories (13-14, 15-16, 17-18) and there is also a Grand prize award.
The 15 finalists are from various countries and the names are below:

Kenneth Shinozuka lives in New York City and wants to help people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. His grandfather is also a victim of the aforementioned disease. He developed a small wearable sensor which his grandfather wears on his foot. Whenever the pressure is applied, the sensor starts working and alerts the family members via a mobile app, which allows them to monitor when his grandfather is on the move. By monitoring the behavior, Kenneth wants to understand the causes and find out the ways to prevent it.

On the other side, Samuel Burrow, a 16 year old U.K. guy wants to improve the environment by reducing the pollution. He has created a special coating that reduces waste chemicals in the air when subjected to ambient light. His idea is inspired from chemical used in sunscreen.
There are many new and unique ideas which are introduced by the teens from every corner of the world. People can support by casting a vote in favor of their favorite finalist for the 2014 Voter’s choice award on the official website of the Google’s science fair competition
