Prime Minister Narendra Modi today in the morning visited Kedarnath to pay prayers at the sacred Himalayan Temple whose portals were got opened after a six-month-long winter break.

According to reports, He is also expected to inaugurate a research centre at Ramdev’s Patanjali Yogpeeth in Haridwar at 12 PM. After the inauguration he will return to Delhi.

Notably, his this visit has come after his announcement of ‘all-weather’ roads for the Char Dham yatra in Uttarakhand.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the first to offer the prayers to God Shiva. It has been learned that PM Modi will be the first to offer prayers.

Apart from PM Modi, President Pranab Mukherjee will also be visiting Uttarakhand in the first week of May to offer his prayers at Kedarnath and Badrinath.

Prime Minister had tweeted, “I will be visiting Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand. I will begin my Uttarakhand visit by praying at Kedarnath Temple.” I will also be inaugurating the Patanjali Research Centre.”

Notably, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat had went to Kedarnath to review all the preparations at the temple.

Accompanied by state Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj, Rawat visited the medical centre to assess the availability of medicines there and also took a round of lodging and other facilities built for devotees, according to a report.

Notably, the sacred portals of Kedarnath were thrown open to devotees after being closed for winters today and portals for Badrinath will open on May 6.
