Sexist swimwear
“Giego” is a swim suit brand making waves among young women all over the world. Founded by Gabby Sabarwal who was born in Indiana and now settled in New York city wanted to design something that fit to all kinds of women and the brand “Giego” is born.
Excerpts from an interview:
How it was all started?
After getting degrees in Art and Journalism from New York University I tried sewing and sketching but it did not succeed. Then I joined as PR Manager and had chance to meet well known designers and market strategists. Taking cue from them I laid the foundation for “Giego”. Infact it was my pet name my mother used to call.

Your debut line?
That was based on my personal style. I always loved layer and mix and match pattern and I introduced it in my first collection and that was a hit.
Your emphasis?
My emphasis is on fabrics, where my all story begin. No doubt colour pattern in important. I do not want standard look so I am keen my collection stand apart from what was in the market.
You keep in mind women’s body while designing?
Yes sure! I always keep in mind all type of body. Though my swimsuit is modern I always see each silhouette as a unique approach for different seasons. My concern is the feel good factor of the wearer.

How different “Giego” from others?
The brand is multi-functional. It is convertible and reversible. You have removable straps, seamless technology and side riching, which you rarely find in other swimsuit. I personally check the final product and see whether everything including finishing and stitching is up to our standard.
Do you interact with your clients?
Always! I wanted to try everything I found missing in the market. They, my clients want to wear a mix of high and low. You can take your favourite silhouettes to your home and free to update them with few simples to make them your own.

Your future plan?
I am into man’s jacket. As regards swim suit I would like to do a collection that will fit for sun bathing in which girls feel comfortable. I always select silhouettes on the basis of interaction with my clients.
