Ahmadabad based Umang inherited huge responsibility as he belongs to the great “Hutheesing” family of Gujarat. “I know it was great responsibility to maintain that standard and today I hold a power legacy. Though educated in USA and Japan with banking as my subject my interest was somewhere else. Art and culture attracted me a lot and what I am today is because of it, ”Umang said.
Umang designs exclusive for Kings and Queens of the world and when British Royal scans visited India recently they visited him and saws the collections. “They really appreciated my royal collection,” Umang said. He believes fashion should come from the top. According to him people who are glamourous and powerful empower mass to wear the style and design they like to wear. “I am not saying that what rich and famous wear could be worn by the general mass. Still what Kareena Kapur or Shah Rukh Khan wear go viral and people like to imitate them in their wardrobe. This is a natural phenomenon. I am just following it.”
Umang believes heritage and fashion are interrelated. It is there for decades. “He mix both in his royal collection and I want to end the myth that fashion is frivolous. Today’s youngsters want style not functions. Also I donot like the idea of mix up of east and west or what you call fusion. It is just absurd.”

I use lot of embroidery like karchop and marodi which was the favourite with royal costume designs.”
