Meet 23 year old Hari Nef an American transgender actress, model and writer. She has signed a contract with prestigious Modelling Agency IMG recently and made history. She has a degree from Colombia University in acting and it helped her to get acting assignments including second season of Aamazon Prime Transparent.
How did you become a fashion conscious woman?
When I was young fashion and fashion shows attracted me. I knew it was not easy for a transgender to become a model or actress. People generally dislike them and talk nasty things. But with God’s grace I worked hard and got a degree in acting. That was my first step into modelling and acting career. Started getting small assignments and when I was in college very acting in theater.

Your big break?
My first fashion show was in 2015 at New York Fashion Week. Then Gucci offer came in. This famous brand started a liking in my and did a passionate shoot for the brand recently. I have become more in demand than ever.
Model in different moods
Are you emotional person?
To some extent yes, because people, not all, talks nasty things in general about transgender and pass rude comments. Initially I used to be upset but now after encouragement from well known designers, models and lens men I become more confident. I just ignore all of them.
What about acting?
It is picking up. My role in Transparent was well appreciated by the critics. Besides Transparent I also acted in Hellaware and lately Crush. I wanted to be known as an actor not model. Modelling is passé. Also I am a spokesperson for Transgender society. My big catwalk movement came from my instant friendship in the fashion industry. I personally want to talks Gucci for it.

How did you protect your identity?
I am just tired of talking about my body. I am spiritual and spirituality give you strength be yours and not at all feel humiliated or ashamed. I have girl friends and boyfriends and consider me a lesbian. I enjoy normal sex like anybody else.
