Exclusive Chat With Roar’s Commandoes
Lately, Bollywood has been giving chances to new comers who have actually taken over the silver screen by their presence and now it has again got some talented hotties together in one movie- ROAR. The movie is the launch pad for the entire star-cast who want to make a career in this dreamy-land. One World News had an opportunity to know the experience of Aaran Chaudhary, Nora Fatehi and Virendra Singh Maan from the movie Roar:
Why did you choose this movie to launch yourself?
Aaran: Why not? We are getting a chance to be a part of an international film and the most expensive movie ever made with new comers. We are glad to be part of a movie with this kind of technicalities, expert team and VFX which has been acclaimed to be the best. And yes of course, it is different.
Nora: We were open to do a lot of movies but we needed to launch ourselves and make a mark on this industry. It is really important to make a mark because if you don’t then you will disappear because millions make their debut every year in this industry. This movie would make a history and who doesn’t want to be a part of history?

The industry is changing as it is keen to give chances to new directors, writers, actors and so on. They are not sticking to the old concepts but being experimentive.
We had the opportunity right in our first movie to work with experts like Michael Watson who has done cinematography for movies like Bad Boys, Aliens, Step Up Revolution etc. Allan Amin who has directed the action sequences for movies like Dhoom 2 and John Stewart, who did the background score for Happy New year, Warning etc. and being trained under the best commando trainer. So, we have been able to taste the success already.
Aaran Chaudhary, an Ex Marine officer who has been Mr.India and Mr.International and has also been a part of a reality show Khatron ke Khiladi would be making girls go wild with his awesome physique and his singing, composing and dancing capabilities (Woosh! he does have a lot in him. Wink*)
Our reporter in conversation with the roar star cast
Nora: I am pretty scared of snakes, insects and so on, but then when you are under pressure and you have to prove yourself then you can feel nothing but the dedication of being the best. Many times we have seen snakes passing by us, we were scared to death but we just took a deep breath and focused our mind on our work.
The most difficult shot:
Nora: There was a shot where I had to climb a tree. I have never done that before, obviously and it seemed impossible for me. However, when Sadanah sir hammered small nails on it I could do it. Imagine balancing yourself on small nails! but I did it.
Aaran: I have a fight sequence with a snake in which I was supposed to get immersed in silt when there were low tides. The silt gets hardened as the time passes by but still I was in there for 2 hours. I was shivering because the temperature goes down as the dawn appears.
Virendra: I had the most difficult shoot because I don’t know how to swim and the people around Sundarbans told me not to even attempt as the water is so muddy and salty that one can’t see anything and when you know you can encounter crocodiles and snakes the risks gets on to another level.
Though the shot was decided to be taken in a pool of Mumbai, I had to give the real touch for which had to swim in the Sundarban’s lake atleast once. I attempted it and was panicking but I had to focus. So, I completed the shot.

Workout Sessions in Sundarban:
Hardcore disciplined Virendra Singh became the trainer of the cast and because of no availability of gym equipments, with the help of art-director from the crew and carpenter from the nearby district, he made bench, dumbles, arranged weights and worked out on the deck. If the weights would fall short, they would take each other’s help. However, girls would never workout with them and would do either yoga or dance in privacy.
Aaran, how did you become a writer?
During my service as a marine officer, I was away from my family and didn’t have anyone to talk with. So, I would vent out my emotions through words and that’s how I got into habit of writing. In this movie I have written and have even rapped the story of Sunderban which ends with a social message.
Training as a commando:
Nora: I had to compete with the guys, I wasn’t treated any different. I had to go through each and everything that the guys would do and by the time I would get back home I would fall asleep. However, after the second day I started gripping the attitude and body language and started matching up to the guys as well, so much so that at the last day of the training I felt like a guy too.

Do you think Reality show helps in promoting oneself, as Ali Quli (another cast of the movie) has moved into Big Boss season 8?
Virendra: It might help Ali and many others, but I would want to focus more on movies. I have been casted in a movie being produced by Salman Khan called Great Gama, where me and Sohail Khan are playing the lead role. I am getting many opportunities from the industry before the release of the movie and I am expecting much more after the release.
Aaran: Every person has a different persona however for me Khatron Ke Khiladi (the reality show Aaran participated in) has really helped in knowing that I can do good action sequences. It was a good recognition for me but what matters is which TV show you are going for.
Nora: Yes it does. the times have changed and one can now see even big stars like Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan etc. coming on the small screen of television and television actors like Sushant Singh Rajput, Gurmeet Choudhary etc. taking over the big screens. It has become a big platform to reach the huge audience. People remember you for a longer period of time, so yes it is indeed a good opportunity and if given a chance I would surely do a reality show.
