32 year old and mother of two, super model Karolina Kurkova was in India to take part in the Mint sponsored luxury conference. She was mobbed by the fashion conscious people and according to Karolina she was moved with the love and affection poured on her. At 16 she was the youngest model to grace the cover of Vogue and interestingly she was on the cover of Vogue both international and regional 23 times, record of a sort.
Excerpts from an interview:
- Your impression about your last visit to India
It was super. I really enjoyed the Indian food and the people were warm. Though I could not visit various holiday destinations due to tight schedule, I hope to come back again soon and fulfill my wishes.
- About your early days
I was born in Czeck republic and started modeling at the aged of 15. To presume modeling further I went to Milan and did some catwalk and print shot. That was the beginning of my career as a model. Then I shifted to New York City at the age of 17and made it as a permanent address where I stay with my husband and two kids.

- Your real break
I did a cover shot for Vogue and that helped me to get international attention. Besides famous lingerie brand Victoria Secret approached me and I signed a contract in 2005. As a VS model I gathered additional confidence and had opportunities to work with internationally acclaimed lens men.
- About major brands you worked?
I worked with almost all the major brands and designers include Christian Dir, Louis Vuitton, Mango, Calvin Klein, Prada among others.
- About your acting career
My film debut was in2007 called The Rising of Cobra. I was also there in NBC’shuck season Episode 4 and some other reality shows too.

- Your present occupation
Besides modeling I am also a super model coach on Oxygen’s “The Face” along with Naomi Campbell and Coco Rocha.
- Define beauty
Beauty has to come from within. With make up, hair stylist help and wearing branded clothes wouldn’t make you beautiful.
