Bilaal Saeed’s journey from Pakistan to India
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Atif Aslam, Mustafa Zahid and so many other singers from Pakistan have successfully made their existence in the Bollywood industry and have also gained immense love from us. However there are still many artists who have reached our ears (thanks to the development in technology) but haven’t been able to make it to Bollywood industry. One of them is Bilaal Saeed, who is now making his debut in the industry with Ishqedarriyaan, a romantic flick played by Mahaakshay Chakraborty and Evelyn Sharma. In this movie’s album, Bilaal has sung and composed a song, ‘Mohabbat Yeh’, which has already started to make its way to the hearts of Indian audience.
How do you feel about coming to India?
This is my first Bollywood project and I am overwhelmed by the kind of response I am getting from people here. Bollywood is such a big industry and is known in the entire world, so, as a singer from Pakistan it was a dream to be a part of this industry. I did expect a good response but it’s been over my imagination. However, it is sad that due to security reasons I always have to visit police station wherever I go. And yeah, also I would like to add that people usually say Pakistan’s food is good but I must say, I have loved food here.
How did you get this song?
This song was with Rajesh ji since a long time but we were searching for a script on which this would suit the best.
Were you nervous about being here?
I wasn’t nervous when I came here. I have 3.2 million followers and 70% people are from India. We get to meet the stars from Bollywood quite often but we don’t get to know the response of the audience on songs we have sung. So, it is now that I am experiencing this.
Is the craze for Bollywood singers same in Pakistan?
Almost all the singers have performed there and are loved immensely. I should tell you that if for example we have ten channels then eight of them are playing Bollywood songs. We have to really fight to get our songs on the list. So, with this you can guess the craze. Every face of Bollywood industry is famous and known in Pakistan.
Who are your favourites?
My personal favourite is Kailash Kher and my idol is Ustaad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan but yes, here in India, we have a lot of talented artist. I am also in talks with Honey Singh for collaboration. We connect on the level of our personal journey to the fame so, let see how the journey goes in future.
Tell us something about our struggle period?
Well, that’s a long story but I will tell you all in short- I worked in a studio for 4 years but all of a sudden the guy chucked me out and that’s when I decided to start my own studio and somehow I did start with it and the first song I produced was 12 saal which became a huge hit.
Any message to our readers?
I started my journey as a composer in 8th class not knowing what exactly was I doing but here I am today. So, if you want to do something, you can do it all by yourself, all you need is confidence on your own self. Life is a big inspirer, take inspiration from it and make it big.
