“It is a strong violation of law and order where the three young girls who were returning from their tuition classes and were getting down from a bus in the West Bengal’s Bankura district are the victims of an acid attack and are severely injured. This is happening when we have a strong law. In spite of a strong law, why are these incidents happening? Probably, because acid can be easily brought over the counter by any person,” she said.

“The law and order has totally vanished from the city. The chief minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee should pay more attention to women of her state,” added the former DCW chairperson Barkha Shukla Singh.

The three victims were attacked with acid in the Bankura district on Sunday evening after attending their tuition classes.

The case is currently under investigation.
