The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav has declined to accept the water train offer of the centre.
According to reports, the minister wrote a letter to Railway Ministry and refused the offer saying that “We have do not have Latur like conditions here in Bundelkhand and if we will need water, then we will inform railways.”
Water crisis in Bundelkhand
Notably, Bundelkhand is facing severe water crisis from many days and most of the people are leaving for metro cities from there.
Seven districts of Bundelkhand including Chitrakoot, Banda Mahoba, Hamirpur , Lalitpur, Jhansi and Banda are the most affected due to the water crisis.
However, this is a matter of concern as worst of summer yet to come.
