Swaraj apologizes to Manipur girl over racial slur
Sushma Swaraj the External Affairs Minister has taken note of a Facebook post by a Manipuri girl named Monika Khangembam in which she had told that an immigration officer at the Delhi’s IGI airport ‘humiliated’ her by asking about her nationality.
According to her post, the officer had repeatedly asked her questions in order to test her ‘knowledge’ about the country and has even told her that ‘she did not look like an Indian’.

Swaraj took to his twitter account, and has tweeted that while the Immigration Department does not come under her ministry, but she would take up the matter with the Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
On Sunday night, Swaraj tweeted:

This was not the first time when north-easterners have been humiliated, but they have faced humiliation in different parts of the country.
