The former Chief Minister of Delhi Sheila Dikshit has reportedly turned down the proposal given by Congress Party to be the Chief Ministerial candidate in Uttar Pradesh, where elections are scheduled for next year.
As per the sources, Dikshit said to party that she does not want to contest elections from U.P.
The party’s poll strategist had proposed a Brahmin face for the U.P elections; however it seems that the search for the desired candidate is yet to get over.

Earlier, Dikshit met the party president Sonia Gandhi who had asked her to consider the role in U.P.
Ms Dikshit had asked for time before finalizing her decision.
According to sources, Ms Dikshit had been the top choice for U.P because of her good record in Delhi and her family ties, as her father in law Mr Uma Shankar Dikshit was a prominent Congressman from there.
