President Pranab Mukherjee will give 21 Shilp Guru and 59 National Awards to master crafts-persons for the successive 3 years at a function to be held at Vigyan Bhavan in the national capital.
The main purpose of the Prize is to give appreciation to master crafts-persons for their excellence in craftsmanship and important contribution to Indian Handicrafts industry.
The Shilp Guru award includes a gold coin of Rs. 2, 00, 000 in cash, a copper plate , and traditional white clothes and a certificate while ,the National Award consist Rs. 1,00,000 in cash prize, a Tamrapatra or copper plate and traditional white clothes along with a certificate.
