Police cancels Geelani’s press conference
The Jammu and Kashmir police did not allow the separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani, to address the press conference at his residence in Hyderpora, Srinagar which was scheduled on Monday.
The chairman of his faction of the Hurriyat Conference was scheduled to address the media at 12:30 PM.
Police did not allow the media persons to reach Geelani’s residence, they were returned from the airport road. “We stayed there for a while but were repeatedly denied by the police to proceed towards the venue,” said a media person had reached Hyderpora, to cover the conference.

However, Geelani was taken for a medical check up to the SKIMS, early on Monday under the police custody.
“It is the frustration of the so government who did not even allowed Geelani Sahab to talk to the media,” Hurriyat (G) spokesman, Ayaz Akbar the media.
Geelani will be undergoing house arrest from 5 December, a day before his scheduled Trial visit.
Later, Geelani was not allowed to hold public meetings in Bandipora and in Srinagar as well.
Earlier, after his ‘freedom’ from the 235 day long house arrest on October 29, 2013 Geelani addressed a massive public meetings in Sopore, Shopian, Kulgam, Pulwama and Kupwara.
