Government blaming Pakistan for cross border terror attacks
PM Modi will not attend SAARC meet in Pak:- Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India will not be travelling in November to Pakistan in order to attend the regional SAARC summit, the government said today. The government is blaming the “cross-border terror attacks” for creating an environment that is “not conducive” for this meeting which is to be held between eight nation.
Sources have also revealed that three other countries – Afghanistan, Bhutan and Bangladesh – have signaled that they will not attend the meeting, as virtually they have ensured that the session will have to be relocated.
This move is so far the biggest in India’s global campaign which is to isolate Pakistan after four terrorists crossed the border into Kashmir and have attacked an army base in Uri, which killed 18 soldiers.
Questions on Indus Waters Treaty
The PM has made a series of moves in the recent days in order to penalise Pakistan. He has reviewed the crucial Indus Waters Treaty, which divides resources from the six rivers between India and Pakistan. PM Modi said “blood and water cannot flow together” as officials said that India will now be utilizing much more of its share of water, which will eat into the surplus that Pakistan had been availing.
But, according to Pakistan’s Sartaj Aziz, who functions as Foreign Minister, said that if India pulls out of the treaty, it will further amount to “an act of war”. PM Modi has also called for a deliberation on Thursday of whether to further downgrade Pakistan’s status as a trading partner.

Pakistan has said that, though the country has not yet received any official communication, the Indian announcement was unfortunate.
Afghanistan’s ambassador to India Dr Shaida Mohammad Abdali have told it to a leading channel last week that it was willing to further consider a joint boycott of the SAARC or South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation summit along with India and also other members.
As thousands of residents of the Kashmir Valley had clashed with security forces on a daily basis for over a month, Pakistan has lionised Wani as a martyr and as a leader, and, according to India; they have funded and incited the unrest.
