The PM will also visit Gorakhnath temple to unveil the statue of the former BJP MP and the temple’s head priest Mahant Avaidyanath.
Later, he will be interacting with a group of saints there and release a memoir on the life if Mr Mahant Avaidyanath. After this the PM would lay the foundation stones of AIIMS Gorakhpur and the fertiliser factory and will also be holding a rally.
“By re-opening the fertiliser factory, the PM has fulfilled his promise that he had made before the Lok Sabha elections. The AIIMS here will be treating the people from around UP, north-west Bihar and Nepal. Both the projects will create employment opportunities for the youths of UP and Bihar. Gorakhpur will now become a centre of developmental activities in UP,” said Shiv Pratap Shukla, BJP’s Rajya Sabha member and Gorakhpur leader.
While the Prime Minister promised to reopen the fertiliser factory in an election meeting in January 2014, the Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved Rs 1011-crore AIIMS project under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.
