No alcohol would be available in Bihar from April 1st!
After several discussion and flip- flops, finally the Bihar government has decided to ban the sale and consumption of liquor in the state in phases, which will start from April 1st.
According to reports, country made alcohol would be completely banned in the state from April 1st , whereas Indian Made Foreign Liquor will be banned after six months in second phase.
The Bihar Assembly on Wednesday unanimously passed the Bihar Excise (Amendment ) Bill 2016 to ban the country made liquor in the state.
Notably, currently there are nearly 6,00 0 retail shops in the state. This move was expected as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar last year had declared that there would be complete ban on sale and consumption of liquor in the state.
