MPs of Rajya Sabha once again demanded for salary hike

According to reports, Rajya Sabha members on Friday once again raised the demand of increasing their salaries and questioned the government’s silence on the suggestions of a committee that had recommended salary hike for the members of parliament.
Notably, on various occasions MPs have said that their salary should more than that of a cabinet secretary.

Samajwadi Party leader Ramgopal Yadav in a statement said that their salary is lowest of all and their salary is lesser than MLAs of Delhi government, half of what a Maharashtra MLA gets.
In fact the congress leader Anand Sharma also supported the Samajwadi party leader. Several other members also supported the demand of the Mps.
