With the sudden announcement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is currently in Japan of banning the notes of 500 and 1000 in order to combat black money entirely had serious effects on the country. Ban on big currency notes has hit the cinema theatres really hard. Many movie halls are vacant as people are running short of money due to denomination. A funny incident took place in Ahmedabad’s movie theatre, where a man watched movie alone in a theatre as people avoided watching movies due to pack of Rs 500 and 1000 currency notes.
Though many small scale business men who are earning white money are also going through heavy loss but then also they are supporting Modi’s decision. A theatre owner was quoted saying “Sale of tickets has come down, this currency ban has impacted our business but we still support the initiative.” Theatres are also suffering a lot. Recently a man watched movie alone in a theatre.
Man felt like a King
When the only man who was present there to watch movie got to know that there is no audience in the theatre except him, he was bit shocked but then he enjoyed watching movie alone as he said it was totally a ‘king feeling’ that he experienced.
The ban on Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 impacted theatre business in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Ticket sales in the theatres decreases fell due to lack of currency notes. Incidentally, Gujarat was ranked 4th in Google Trends (India) on Friday when it came to the search term ‘how to convert black money to white’.
