Kashmir Unrest: Sensitise people- General Dalbir Singh to Troops
General Dalbir Singh Suhag, the Chief of Army Staff has directed everyone to ensure strict vigil along the Line of Control and have also urged the troops to sensitise the people, especially towards the youth, to avoid violence and maintain peace.
The Army Chief has also reinforced the need to synergise the efforts with all the other stakeholders and assured that all support for bringing in the normalcy, particularly in South Kashmir.
The Army Chief, who had reviewed the security situation and some collaborative measures of security forces towards peace and maintaining tranquillity in the region, appreciated the various humanitarian initiatives taken by the troops to bring succour to the rest affected locals due to the ongoing unrest, and exhorted them to further sustain this positive engagement with the ‘Awaam’.

General Dalbir Singh, who was accompanied by the Northern Army Commander Lt. Gen. D.S. Hooda and the Chinar Corps Commander Lt. Gen. Satish Dua, visited the Line of Control (LoC) formations and units in north and south Kashmir and have commended all ranks of the Chinar Corps for their operational preparedness and commitment to the cause of national security.
Later, he had visited Badami Bagh Cantt., where he was briefed by the Chinar Corps Commander on the numerous initiatives, which are undertaken by the army all across the Valley to bring about peace.
