Great Train Robbery: Rs.5.78 crore of RBI stolen from moving train
In a daring heist in a moving train, Rs. 5.78 crore out of Rs 340 crore out of Rs.340 crore which was being sent to RBI was found stolen on Tuesday morning.
According to reports, IGP M Ramasubramani informed that four of the 226 boxes stacked with the cash were found tampered with on the arrival of the train.

An RBI official also informed that the train was also carrying soiled notes. Police said an air- vent in one of the three cargo coaches in which the cash boxes were kept was found broken , which means that someone has entered through the roof of the train.
The police also suspected that the culprits could have entered the coach on the Salem- Vridhachalam section , where trains runs on diesel locomotives and not on electricity.
