Eminent writer, Mahasweta Devi dies at 90

Prominent social activist and litterateur Mahasweta Devi today passed away at the age of 90. The Padma Vibhushan and Magsaysay awardee died at a Kolkata Hospital because of a prolonged illness.
The writer- activist was well – known for her social work for tribals in the different parts of our country.

She was born in year 1926 in Dhaka and was currently with her daughter- in – law and her grandchild. Notably, she retired from her job in year 1984 as an English lecturer.
Today we have lost a legend, May her soul rest in peace and we once again thank her for the wonderful she did for us.
